Celebrity Cellulite: How the Stars Get Fit

Cellulite is unattractive, dimpled fat that gathers on the hips, thighs and buttocks of many women. It does not discriminate between fat and thin or rich and poor. It can strike anyone from adolescent age or older. It is caused by the storage of fat underneath fibrous connective tissue called septae that bears a honeycomb shape. When the fat bulges through the septae, the dimpling underneath the skin occurs. This is such a prevalent problem that there have been magazine covers and tabloid issues devoted to celebrity cellulite. That's right -- even the richest and most beautiful women cannot escape the horrors of cellulite.
Not to say they don't try. Celebrities do their best to remove cellulite and reduce its appearance in a variety of creative ways. For example, supermodels such as Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks are said to use a home remedy consisting of coffee grounds and cellophane wrap to fight the battle of the bulge. To try this at home, combine some warm massage oil with a substantial amount of ground coffee until a thick, grainy paste is formed. Briskly rub the affected area with the coffee grind/oil mixture, then wrap with cellophane. Leave on for twenty minutes, then remove and rinse clean. You may want to finish with an anti-cellulite cream or gel. It's thought that the massaging action stimulates the circulation, while the caffeine in the coffee grounds helps flush away excess water weight.
Naomi and Tyra aren't the only celebrities with cellulite. Stars like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow have all either been photographed with cellulite or admitted to having it. One way these stars conceal the problem is with expert airbrushing and retouching of photos. Thanks to computer technology, that dimpled cottage cheese skin can vanish in a flash. This is something every woman should be aware of, especially if they are comparing themselves to their favorite celebrities.
Another way celebs get rid of cellulite is with exercise. After all, they're rich enough to employ the finest personal trainers who can design workout routines just for them. You can follow in their famous footsteps by working out at home, or at the gym. Exercise is touted as one of the best remedies for cellulite, whether it is celebrity cellulite or otherwise. Try a routine that combines plenty of cardio with targeted body toning exercises for best results. If you can't seem to get rid of all your cellulite, don't feel bad -- neither can many of your favorite stars!
